Description | GeoSetter version 3.5.3 Efixtool version 12.25 With my newly aquired sony a1 camera, the original file size nearly doubles when saving Lat/Long and text location data. Issue occurs whether data is saved directly in image or into xmp sidecar files | ||||
Steps To Reproduce | Original file sizes are ~ 70k Load files into geosetter Synchronize with GPS data file Automatic location data lookup including altitude, Lat, Long, city, state, country data save changes resulting file size is about 130K | ||||

I tried using several other geotagging tools and had the same issue. It seems to occur when writting the Lat/Long data into the original file. I believe these other tools also use the Exiftool as well. When had Geosetter write the data just to xmp sidecar files (as opposed to directly in to the image file) the original image file remained unchanged |

it seams, that this was discussused in the ExifTool forum (https://exiftool.org/forum/index.php?topic=12504.0) and it's a bug in the Sony firmware. |
