Summary | 0000922: Google Geocoding API
Description | Hi, I would like to have the Google (reverse)Geocoding API "http://code.google.com/intl/de-DE/apis/maps/documentation/geocoding/" as an additional alternative to the GeoNames Webservice to reverse geoencode my images. The Google Geocoding API is also free for non commercial use with a limit of 2500 requests per user per day. However it yields much better results than GeoNames, down to street number levels for some regions. And you can easily choose the language the result is encoded. e.g. choosing greek language for regions in Greece, or if you like, use English for an English translitaration of the placenames. What do you think? Wouldn't this be a great new feature for an upcoming release of GeoSetter Jacques
Additional Information | Give it a try http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/json?latlng=37.9743924,23.7267083&sensor=false&language=el or the same transliterated to English http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/json?latlng=37.9743924,23.7267083&sensor=false&language=en
