  1. This is an AMAZING program, it is very powerful, intuitive to use. Thank you so much for creating and maintaining it. 🙂

  2. Hi, i have a problem, when i try to search a city in the map of GeoSetter i unable to find nothig, i receive from the software the same message, “name of cuty” NOT FOUD. I tried with a lot of city but nothing. Can someone help me?
    Thank you

  3. I too noticed this issue about that time too. It was a problem on 1 of my 2 PCs- the other worked fine. Today, the problem is on both. If you find a solution, please post it. Thanks

  4. I have the same experience as Giorgio (comment of 7 August). Any search at all now returns the result ‘not found’. This is fairly recent.

In addition, Geosetter has been unable for a long time to check for Exiftool updates. It says ‘Retreiving information about a newer version failed’.

I have checked my firewall logs and DNS logs and it seems no outgoing request is being made, both for the places search and for the Exiftool update check.

Does anyone know what is going on?

  5. Please make possible to add keywords to metadata to own order, currently GeoSetter puts all keywords in alphabetical order. I need to add the keywords to different order to the metadata.

  6. I have the same issue as Giorgio, searching never works anymore, no matter which type of map is selected (Google or OpenStreetMap). Always frustrating, everything else is so great…
Thank you for the excellent tool, I keep going back to it.

  7. Hi
suddenly I see strange question marks turning up in geo coordinates of geosetter (353). I believe this is since a windows update? Looks like a character map issue,

  8. When I ran up the portable version of OneCommander (from onecommander dot com) it wouldn’t start without my removing Geosetter as it said it messed with the floating point registers and caused problems. Is this a known issue? Has it been fixed?
    Regards
    John

  9. The search function no longer works.
You have to use the Coordinates function and enter the GPS point.

    ex:
    decimal degrees:
    —————–
    48.853302, 2.348969

    degrees, minutes, secondes :
    —————————
    N 48° 51′ 11.887″ E 2° 20′ 56.288″

  10. Bonjour,
ce logiciel est formidable et facile Ă  utiliser. Ce serait bien qu’il continue Ă  Ă©voluer, quitte Ă  ce qu’il devienne un graticiel avec un droit d’entrĂ©e.

  11. Hi,
it appears that something changed and the Maps no longer shows. Here’s the error in the code:

    Line: 179
Error: The Google Maps JavaScript API does not support this browser.

  12. This tool is amazing !
However, it seems no one is maintaining it anymore ? Anyone gets an insight whether the project is still going on, and updates could come ?
Since my WIndows got automatically upgraded to Windows 11, I can’t access the map anymore, I have this error message:
19/02/2022 19:21:18 ERROR: Could not complete the operation due to error 80020101
    showMap3(2, 4, 13.5455201613, 99.9649229715, 18);

Any help welcome ! I’ll be very sad if I can’t anymore use GeoSetter !

  13. I have found Geosetter an invaluable tool for community mapping and photo archiving.
Just recently it has stopped working as it cannot load either google map or OSM. I am missing its utility very much and hope for an update to solve this in the near future.

  14. What is the present problem with the program?

Map will not display and error message when Googled, brings no answers that fit the situation.

[ ERROR: Could not complete the operation due to error 80020101 ]

    Does anyone have a solution?

  15. Hi, I really love your program. It is by far the best integrated GPS software for pics. However, since IE is no longer supported by windows as of today, but is necessary for geosetter , does this mean that geosetter will stop??
